Sustainability at THEY

THEY are committed to implementing sustainable practices across all aspects of our operations. This policy outlines our collective commitment to sustainability, covering energy usage, waste and water management, and community services.

Energy usage

Each of us should strive to minimise our energy consumption by adopting energy-efficient practices and technologies, not just at our office but also at our home offices. This includes using energy-efficient LED lighting, using natural light when and where possible, and ensuring that our electronic and electrical equipment is powered down when not in use. For example, our New Delhi office has LED lights installed to save energy and we encourage all our employees to do the same at their houses. Additionally, when employees are leaving a room, whether at home or at the office, they should turn the lights and ACs off. When the laptop is fully charged, please unplug it to conserve energy and extend battery life.

Waste management

We encourage everyone to embrace a "reduce, reuse, recycle" mindset by using reusable mugs, water bottles, and food containers whenever possible and avoiding single-use plastics. To make recycling easier, we have placed clearly marked recycling bins at the office; employees are requested to take the time to sort their waste appropriately.

Additionally, we are committed to the responsible disposal of e-waste. A designated e-waste collection point is available in the office for items like batteries, cables, and electronic devices. We have partnered with a certified e-waste vendor to ensure these items are recycled or disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner.

We also strive to minimise paper usage by opting for digital documents and double-sided printing whenever possible. We encourage all our employees to follow these practices at their home offices as well, since sustainability is our collective responsibility.

Water usage

Small actions can make a big difference in reducing unnecessary water consumption. If an employee notices a leak or any water-wasting fixture, they should report it immediately to the Office Administrator and ensure that repairs are made promptly at home as well. Employees should also use water efficiently. Whether washing hands or using the kitchen sink, it is important to be mindful of water usage by turning off the tap while soaping hands or cleaning dishes. By adopting these simple habits, we can collectively reduce water waste and contribute to a more sustainable future.

Giving back to the communities

Every year, we will donate 0.5% of our revenue to charitable causes. Through this annual contribution, we are able to support a wide variety of initiatives that align with our values and address pressing social needs. Each year, our employees are invited to actively participate in selecting the charitable cause we will support through our donation. We conduct a company-wide survey where every employee has the opportunity to vote for the causes that resonate most with them. The cause receiving the highest number of votes is chosen as our donation recipient for the year.

In addition to our financial contributions, we will support one or two carefully selected organisations each year with pro bono communication services. Through our strategic support, we hope to help elevate their visibility, strengthen their outreach, and engage their audiences, helping them drive their missions forward.

We also offer community-building leave for employees (for more details around this, refer to Chapter 7).

We are driven by a vision of touching as many lives as possible, while also promoting a sustainable future. Through our charitable contributions and endeavours, including initiatives that support environmental sustainability, we hope to do our part to grow the good in this world. We believe in partnering with passionate individuals and organisations firmly committed to changing the world for the better, both socially and environmentally.
